Last weekend’s races at Richmond were great

This past weekend of racing at Richmond Raceway were thoroughly enjoyable.

The drivers in this series always provide an outstanding race at Bristol, a track perfectly described as “10 gallons to fuel in a five-gallon canister,” on the commercial advertising the race. The days when Rookie of the Year contenders break out in this series are over. Zane Smith is a Rookie driver in this series, but has limited experience in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and is taking full advantage of it. Christian Eckes is too inconsistent to put blinding trust in to win a race. Interestingly, Joe Gibbs Racing hasn’t scheduled him to start a race in the Xfinity Series yet like he did for Erik Jones and Harrison Burton. Is he on a closer trajectory to Christopher Bell?

Ben Rhodes is having a stellar season and is peaking at the perfect time. He could be a serious contender for the title this season. However, I predict Zane Smith will win the UNOH 200 presented by Ohio Logistics.

Races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Bristol Motor Speedway are hard to gauge. The races can definitely be nail-biters and Justin Allgaier can attest to that after being wrecked late by Noah Gragson in late May. Conversely, races can be boing like whenever Kyle Busch competes in and dominates them. Allgaier has all of the momentum right now and he is extremely good there. The commercial advertisement for this race said it simply, “Ten gallons of fuel in a five-gallon canister” and that’s so true. Allgaier will capture his third consecutive victory this Friday night.

Race events at Bristol in the NASCAR Cup Series are like 10 gallons of fuel and a 5-gallon bucket. Sometimes they are clean, but sometimes they’re not. Sometimes the entertaining but lately they have not been Because dirtier negatively affects the race cars and causes passes to be hard to make. This Saturday’s race is the first in the In the playoffs and it is a cut off race. Expect fireworks on the track and after the race. I don’t expect it to be exciting enough to get an 80% overall rating but it should be closer to 75%.

Joey Logano will win the Bass Pro shops race but she will have to fend off challenges from Brad Keselowski and Martin Truex Junior. Some value pics for your fantasy lineup will be William Byron and his teammate Alex Bowman. As far as drivers that are not competing in the round of 16, Eric Jones and promise of some valued picks.
