Adam Stern, a writer for the Sport Business Journal, tweeted that “Tony Stewart soke with Robin Miller about hiring Kyle Larson, Nothing has been announced yet.”
Tony Stewart and Kyle Larson both enjoy competing on Dirt, so driving for Stewart-Haas Racing would be the opportunity for Larson to return to NASCAR. Larson’s greatest challenge will be getting sponsors, like Mobil 1, Rush Truck Centers and Haas Automation to support him. Sogniong Larson will also be hugely influenced by whether Gene Haas desires the publicity that comes with acquiring Larson.
Several YouTube vloggers, including myself, predicted that Stewart-Haas Racing would revitalize Larson’s career. Will they conservatively promote Briscoe to the Cup Series and place Larson i the #98 (or change it to the #00) for one or two years, until Harvick retires or Almirola is forced to?
Coming into this season, the biggest news was that Jimmie Johnson announced his retirement. Along with that, the #48 car became the hottest commodity in the Cup garage. Will this story largely overshadow the driver that Rick Hendrick and Jeff Gordon choose to replace Johnson?
