Did Hendrick Motorsports’ dominance End in Qualifying for the Daytona 500

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. won the Kroger Pole Award for the 62nd-annual Daytona 500 (2:30 pm ET on Fox). Wass that a surprise or not?

Stenhouse Jr.’s team uses engines built by Hendrick Motorsports. Neither of HMS team’s won; but an affiliated team did. As it is, Hendrick’s dominance still reigns supreme.

In the Daytona 500, Hendrick Motorsports drivers are not typically fast in the race.

Does it pay well to win the Daytona 500 actually?

Previous years has shown that qualifying in thre mid-pack is the best. Since 2016, Joe Gibbs Racing drivers have been the class of the the field, especially Denny Hamlin.

Who is the favorite?

You can bet Denny Hamlin will be strong but the 150-mile Bluegreen Vacation Duel races (7:00 pm ET on Fox) will determine who will be the favorite.
